What are the TOEM 2 camera tools?
Focus plus attachments: hammer, screwdriver/wrench, scissors, hover cam. Zoom and pan are always on. Friends grant tools. Not weapons.
This TOEM 2 camera page is the gadget list for the photography sequel: the viewfinder is the verb, attachments are puzzle jobs, and nothing here is a weapon. PC (Steam) · PlayStation 5 · Nintendo Switch · Nintendo Switch 2. Verified September 30, 2026. Buy on Steam
On TOEM 2 gameplay premiere (English captions), Something We Made co-founders Lucas and Nicholas say each friend NPC grants a camera tool, show scissors that cut and a hammer that smashes, and stress jump/climb plus a snappier camera versus TOEM 1. Public recaps add focus, screwdriver/wrench (in-game noun wins), and hover cam. The toem 2 camera loop is still: compose, snap, hand in, stamp.
| Tool | Public use | Where recaps introduce it |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom / pan | Distant details, corners, high ledges | Always on the camera |
| Focus | Odd objects, secrets, clouds, cave light, a single leaf | Homelanda paper-plane recaps; Taletorp / Whirhill |
| Hammer | Nails, smash repairs, pots, sculpture blocks, cave walls | Construction friends; Taletorp recaps |
| Screwdriver / wrench | Pipes, leaks, valves, water direction, aquarium food lines | Deltburg · Steam demo listing |
| Scissors | Vines, fruit, farm plants — confirm the HUD label | Cropten/Cropton recaps |
| Hover cam / gimbal | Park the camera in air; selfies; studio poses | Late / photo-studio recaps |
TOEM 2 camera tools are attachments and viewfinder modes, not RPG gear slots. The store: snap pictures to solve puzzles, uncover secrets, document discoveries, and use attachments unconventionally per region. Premiere (~01:19–01:40): friends give tools; scissors cut; hammer smashes. That is the design bible. There is no fire rate, no durability bar in public notes, and no combat.
Zoom and pan are baseline. Focus is the “this object is lying until you rack it” mode. Hammer, screwdriver/wrench, scissors, and hover cam are the named kit this wiki tracks. Media mix screwdriver (Steam demo, Polygon Plum) with wrench in some roundups — photograph the HUD label and use that word on this site.
You keep tools after the region that taught them, according to public recaps, so a later stamp can still ask for a hammer in a city you already left. That is not a loadout screen. The next section is focus versus zoom, because that mix-up wastes more stamps than a missing wrench.
This sequel has no redeem-codes loop. Attachments are not Roblox abilities. If a SERP offers a TOEM 2 DPS tier list, you are in the wrong genre.
Premiere (~01:53–02:09): jump and climb are the biggest movement change versus TOEM 1, so photo subjects sit on roofs. Movement feeds the toem 2 camera; it is not an attachment icon.
Zoom brings a distant mailbox closer. Focus changes what the world is willing to show: a paper plane in Homelanda recaps, Cavern’s Light in Taletorp, a single leaf at Whirhill. Some farm recaps also use focus on sky objects — confirm the request text in-game. If the resident’s line sounds like a riddle (“look at this wrong thing”), try focus before you circle the block a third time.
Spray-and-pray snapshots still fill a roll, but the journal wants the subject the request named. A blurry crowd photo is not a stamp. The camera is snappier this sequel (premiere ~02:12–02:22) so you can reframe faster — that does not replace focus on the jobs that ask for it.
| Request vibe | Try first |
|---|---|
| Portrait of a person or critter in frame | Compose + snap; zoom if they are far |
| “This object / sky / light is special” | Focus, then snap |
| Something behind glass or in a tank | Zoom, then check if a pipe tool is required |
| Cannot stand where the angle needs to be | Hover cam / climb, then compose |
| Water going the wrong way | Screwdriver/wrench, not focus |
Public notes: the late region asks you to focus a tree’s single leaf for the TOEM beat. That is the opposite of the Deltburg pipe exam. Do not take demo muscle memory into Whirhill and only look for valves.
Premiere transcript: along the journey you meet special NPCs called friends, each with a personality and quest line; they aid you through fears and difficulties; each friend gives a camera tool for new ways to interact with the world. Polygon’s demo: Plum is the capital-F Friend who hands the screwdriver because they cannot plunge and turn the valve together.
That is why this wiki will not invent a shop that sells hammers. You help the friend, you get the verb, you use the verb on the region’s jobs (nails, vines, pipes, selfies). Full-game recaps spread tools across regions: scissors on the farm, hammer in forest construction, screwdriver in the city. If a recap’s NPC name does not match your journal, trust the journal.

Do not skip the friend’s first job to “keep the camera pure.” The attachment is how later stamps in that region are legal. Demo players: Plum’s clog is the teaching beat Steam advertised.
Steam’s toem 2 demo copy names the screwdriver in Deltburg. Polygon: it attaches to the camera and turns the valve while Plum plunges. Full-city recaps: route fish food through aquarium pipes, clear keys in sewer pipes, stop three spray points (Under Pressure), and solve the fountain maintenance maze (readability improved in a demo patch). Deltburg 100% demo walkthrough is the long look at those jobs; local transcript fetch returned no captions, so this page will not fake spoken timestamps.
If an article says wrench, look at your wheel. Same job family: rotate fittings, change water direction, unclog. It is still a photo-adventure gadget. You are not a plumber sim with a skill tree. After the pipe is legal, you often still need a photograph (evolution fish, a soaked NPC, a ghost’s keys).
| Pipe job (recap) | Tool action | Then |
|---|---|---|
| Fountain / clog pressure | Turn valve / screwdriver | Talk to Plum; stamp the friend chain if present |
| Feed a Fish | Route food through pipes | Photograph or wait for the tank beat |
| Locked Out | Clear keys in sewer pipes | Return to the ghost |
| Under Pressure | Stop three sprays | Climb to the wet NPC |
| Aquarium storage clog | Clear the clog | Continue the friend chain |

Public notes call it a hover cam: hold or park the camera in the air for angles and selfies you cannot stand in. Photo-studio recaps: props, tripod, pose (a recap mentions LT to pose) for Creative Freedom. A Taletorp recap uses a Propeller Gimbal selfie in a princess outfit for a frame. Treat gimbal / hover / tripod as the same family until your HUD shows one label.
Hover does not replace jump. Climb to the ledge, then hover if the selfie still clips a wall. It is not a drone combat mount.

Street photos still want a subject in frame. Studio jobs want a composed scene. If the monkey in the photo studio exists in your region, the hover/tripod beat is a stamp, not optional fashion — unless your journal says otherwise.
Stamps stall when the toem 2 camera is used like a phone camera: no focus, no attachment, no climb. Use the table as a pre-hand-in scan.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Zooming a focus riddle | Rack focus on the odd object / cloud / leaf |
| Waiting for a wrench shop | Help the friend; read the HUD noun |
| Expecting hammer in the Steam demo | Demo listing is screwdriver; full kit is campaign |
| Skipping jump for a roof subject | Climb, then shoot |
| Combat-rolling the camera | There is no i-frame; compose the shot |
| Copying TOEM 1 tool order | Sequel attachments are region-gated again, but the list is new |
| Ignoring invert after Next Fest | Overworld vs photo invert — see the demo page |
| Hovering instead of walking to the subject | Hover is angle, not teleport |
Pipe practice: TOEM 2 demo. Stamp gates: stamps.
First session without gadgets: beginner guide.
Focus plus attachments: hammer, screwdriver/wrench, scissors, hover cam. Zoom and pan are always on. Friends grant tools. Not weapons.
Steam demo and Polygon say screwdriver. Some recaps say wrench. Use the in-game label.
The listing highlights the screwdriver in Deltburg. Hammer, scissors, and hover cam belong to other region recaps / the full game.
No. The premiere still calls the camera the main gameplay component. Chill and cozy, not a shooter.
After the demo patch: separate overworld and photo-mode invert options. Reapply if you played Next Fest builds.
Public recaps treat them as kept gadgets, not one-region rentals. Confirm on your wheel.
